The challenge
A family SMB managed 167 quarterly invoices by hand: they downloaded each PDF from email, copied supplier, amount and VAT to an Excel sheet and delivered it to their accountant. The process took over 10 hours each quarter and generated frequent errors.
What we built
A Python script that automatically monitors email, extracts data from each invoice with pdfplumber, validates the information with AI (Claude API) and outputs everything into a structured Excel ready for the accountant.
